Participants will gain a clear understanding of water quality concerns associated with SDWS and will learn proper response to adverse water quality situations.

Equipment, Excavation and Repair

Training Category: Water

Most people do not give much thought to the mostly underground and invisible system that conveys quality drinking water to their homes, schools hospitals and workplaces. This workshop is designed to provide a clear understanding of how the underground piping network and equipment works to deliver drinking water continually to consumers. Best industry practices including safety issues related to excavation and repair, required to maintain this critical system in good working condition at all times, will be presented.

Best Practices in Managing Distribution Water Quality Advancing the Knowledge of Water Distribution

Training Category: Water

After completing this course, participants will be able to identify and address the challenges involved in maintaining drinking water quality from entry to the distribution system to the consumers’ tap. They will acquire a clear understanding of the sources of contamination, and operation and maintenance practices to prevent water quality deterioration. Applicable regulations and conformance measures will be discussed along with recommended practices for monitoring and control.

Quality on Tap: Water Distribution Workshop

Training Category: Water

Participants will learn how typical distribution system design, materials of construction, and operation and maintenance practices affect quality and delivery of safe drinking water. This course will improve the ability of Operations staff to mitigate quality concerns within the distribution system caused by these factors, assisting them in clearly understanding the impacts on customers through water supply quality, quantity, pressure, and flow. Emphasis is placed on good practices associated with monitoring and control, maintenance and repair, and good decision making.

Disinfection Best Practices For Watermains and Storage Facilities: Operator Training Workshop

Training Category: Water

After completing this course, participants will understand how water facilities could become contaminated during construction, maintenance and repair.
