Traffic and Planning Services

Developing and implementing traffic measures to create safety and design solutions.

The COLE traffic and planning teams have developed operational policies and conducted studies for implementation of traffic engineering measures and has been instrumental in creating and completing safety programs, audits and design solutions for transportation authorities. We provide services and advice for the access, parking, circulation and capacity needs of development blocks, subdivisions and individual sites.

Our capabilities in transportation data collection associated with demand, include: trip generation surveys, parking utilization studies and traffic exposure studies and we have completed traffic impact and parking studies for a wide range of uses in rural, suburban and urban contexts.  Our mandate to ‘build sustainable communities’. We meet the challenges of growing communities and public sector organizations, such as forecasting, analyzing, managing and efficiently serving travel demand.

We provide network strategies, transit planning, active transportation solutions and travel demand management expertise through strategic plans for municipal and provincial agencies. As traffic experts, we have provided expert evidence before the Ontario Municipal Board at over 100 hearings on traffic impact issues. We have long-term on-going relationships with our clients. They engage us to provide advice on site selection, determination of site pro forma and site configuration.
