Project Highlights

The Regional Municipality of Peel retained COLE to complete the MEA Class EA – Schedule B, design and construction management of the complete replacement and upgrade of the three (3) wastewater pumping stations located within Mississauga, ON. The project includes the demolition of the existing three (3) wet wells and control buildings and replacement with new submersible pumping stations with emergency overflow chambers, valve chambers, and control buildings to house the PLCs, MCCs, emergency generators, electrical panels, and associated appurtenances.

COLE's scope of services also includes public and agency consultation, permit acquisition, tender, preparation and environmental investigation and monitoring. Liaison with the Credit Valley Conservation Authority and local homeowners is critical to the success of the project as all the stations are located on regulated lands and within metres of residences.

The technical challenges faced by the Project Team includes maintaining pumping while constructing new stations within very tight site with residential neighbourhoods, deep excavation requirements and flood proofing structures constructed within flood plains of local creeks.
