COLE completed a Schedule ‘B’ Municipal Class Environmental Assessment to investigate existing erosion problems and determine erosion protection alternatives for a stretch of Tuck Creek between Billings Court (south of QEW) to Harvester Road. The scope of the project includes identification of construction access, potential land requirements, erosion control methodology and completion of a public consultation program including a public information centre. Agencies consulted include First Nations, Conservation Halton and Ministry of Natural Resources. The preferred alternative was to implement bio-engineering solutions at select locations within the creek. Proposed improvements include a variety of erosion control improvements as well as the removal of failing gabion walls throughout the study area.
