Cole Engineering was retained to provide the Schedule A+ Class EA, Preliminary and Detailed Design and Contract Administration and Inspection services for upgrades to the existing Niagara Falls Water Treatment Plant.

Project Highlights

Cole Engineering was retained to provide the Schedule A+ Class EA, Preliminary and Detailed Design and Contract Administration and Inspection services for the following upgrades to the existing NFWTP Plant:
  • Removal and replacement of the existing LLPS MCC and transformers with a new MCC and transformers
  • Removal and replacement of the existing 0.3 ML gravity backwash tank with a new 500L/s vertical turbine backwash pump in Plant 1.
  • Removal and replacement of the two existing horizontal split case backwash pumps in Plant 2 with a new horizontal split case backwash pump
  • Removal and replacement of the aged concrete roof tops of the existing settling tanks of Plants 1 and 2 with an overhead superstructure to allow for a more efficient maintenance and operation to Plants 1 and 2.
  • Installation of two new air handling units to allow proper ventilation inside the new superstructure.
