Project Highlights

An Environmental Management Plan (EMP) was prepared to identify and mitigate stress to Black Creek and its tributaries which support ecosystem features during construction of the new TTC 407 Subway Station in Vaughan, Ontario. Components of the EMP included the monitoring of indicator parameters such as surface water quality, stream flow, temperature, aquatic habitats, and geomorphology. Response triggers and management plans were developed to manage and mitigate adverse effects to the natural ecosystems. During the construction phase, Cole Engineering was active in providing environmental support on a number of significant occasions, including fuel spills, fire, and potential discharges to the Creek resulting from activities on upstream properties.
